OK. About last night...

Bobby had been worried about the kids being upset about his stitches, drain, swelling...He didn't want it to bother them or upset them. I had (thought) that I had prepared them for what we expected. I had been honest, graphic, and open.

The kids tried so hard not to appear upset/disturbed by all of the surgery stuff. They sat and talked to Bobby nicely.

Julie was the first to peel out. She had to be escorted out of the room. She is very good at knowing when she is getting herself worked up. Lindsey got her a Pepsi and she managed to recover without vomiting. One down....it is still early evening.

At about 11:00, Lindsey came in to say goodnight. The next thing we know, I hear her head hit the side of the night stand. Bobby tried to hold her but it was not a good angle for him. I had to hold her head and climb over him and try to get her to the floor. Bobby was telling me--just watch her airway, watch her airway. HER AIRWAY, WHAT ABOUT MINE?...Oh, and watch your incisions, and Darla (the drain)...oh, and don't let me fall on top of her. She is only 100lbs but was stiff as a board and fighting me.
And Lindsey is out cold. Then.....
...In walks Dan. "What happened to Lindsey? Did she pass out?"

I can see his color fading. He says he feels hot, sick on his stomach....he made it to the bed. Then he took a shower (still Dan here). The next thing I hear is Dan running to his bed yelling, "I'm not feeeelllingg well MOM!!!" He was fine. They tried so hard and held up so long! Bobby felt bad for them. to be continued...
